I do not merely want to capture an image; I look to find beauty in serendipitous moments through light, form, and line. I am passionate about photography because it allows me a tool through which I can freely and easily move outside traditional art forms to explore my world. Through my images I seek to cultivate or spark a visceral sensation of heightened awareness.Ann’s work reflects her love for the great outdoors and, in particular, observing and photographing wildlife. Adventurous, she will hike and bushwhack sometimes for hours with camera in hand looking for wildlife and beautiful landscape. “It is the adventure, the freedom and solitude that is so much the joy of my work.†An award-winning photographer based both in Montana and Arizona, Ann was recently featured in Images Arizona Magazine. She has won numerous awards with the Phoenix Camera Club and the Arizona Camera Club Council. She has exhibited her work at the El Pedregal Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona; the Ridge in Bozeman, Montana; at the Finer Arts Gallery and the Sonoran Arts League in Cavecreek, Arizona and online with Artists in Arizona. Then my work segued into collage art -- both digital and paper collage. My digital collages (also referred to as photo montages) are a compilation of my photographs, scanned papers, and scanned objects. Some are multi-layered and quite complex, depending upon the images I use. I like to experiment with blending modes, opacities, and layer order to add texture and create special effects. Iconic domestic images and playful marital predicaments resonate with most people. The process of narrative genre painting goes from sketching mirthful ideas to taking reference photos to capturing the scene with the richness and workability of oil paint. Choosing photographs as references capture light and likeness since the models are not local. Photos are a great tool and go between what the eye sees in the moment to the canvas. They lend authenticity so that you, the viewer, can see that the figures before you are real people. Use of careful posing and props with real animated characters, allows the creation of lighthearted reflections of America. My works are inspired by the domestic scenes of Sofonisba Anguisola, the story telling of William Hogarth, and the American images of Norman Rockwell. Medium(s): Oil, Jewelry, Photography

Transparency, layered marks, and softened edges create shifting spaces where atmosphere and recollection converge, inviting viewers to experience the landscape as something remembered rather than observed. Each photograph is a fleeting moment captured in a split second, a delicate interplay of light, shadow, and form that reveals the intricate artistry of nature. My lens seeks out the hidden elegance in petals, leaves, and the untamed grace of wildlife, showcasing vibrant hues and intricate structures that often go unnoticed. Medium(s): Photography
