Learn more →My works are intended to capture timeless and recognizable family situations in contemporary informal settings. Iconic domestic images and playful marital predicaments resonate with most people. The process of narrative genre painting goes from sketching mirthful ideas to taking reference photos to capturing the scene with the richness and workability of oil paint. Choosing photographs as references capture light and likeness since the models are not local. Photos are a great tool and go between what the eye sees in the moment to the canvas. They lend authenticity so that you, the viewer, can see that the figures before you are real people. Use of careful posing and props with real animated characters, allows the creation of lighthearted reflections of America.
