Penny Deshur

I have been inspired by the beauty of nature's creations, both plants and animals. My travels around the world have opened my eyes to the abundance of cultures, traditions and wildlife. I embrace the uniqueness of each gourd and create one-of-a-kind pieces. Each piece has its own story and is designed with a balance of texture, color, design and intricate detail. I incorporate woodburning, carving, embossing and other techniques and use found objects, a piece of cactus, feathers, metal, leather, beads and more.
