My artwork is rooted in the intricate and vibrant world of colored pencils, drawing from a variety of manufacturers to achieve the desired effect. Each pencil serves a unique purpose—some are ideal for capturing fine details, while others provide a richness that enhances the whole piece. I begin my process with a photograph I have taken, translating it into a detailed line drawing. When my subject is a bird or animal, I start by rendering the eye, believing it to be the window to the spirit, before moving methodically through the work in sections. Throughout, I continuously assess how each part interacts and flows into the next to create a harmonious composition.
